In the summer of 2019, MasonBower and Foundry embarked on an economic mission to South Korea with Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Etienne Schneider. To say that we came back energised and inspired would be an understatement.

We know that the country is a breeding ground for groundbreaking tech companies. What this mission highlighted, however, is what an incredible economic Asian powerhouse South Korea is – a key driver in innovation on a global scale.

Besides meeting with both large corporations and start-ups, we also formed some great relationships with South Korean business growth experts and organisations. These included the longest established business accelerator in the country, Krypton; Born2Global, a major government agency that supports South Korea’s national start-up programme; and the South Korean Institute of Start-ups & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED).

The mission also very much reinforced the conviction that Luxembourg is the ideal location to access the European market. This is due in no small part to its ideal geographic position, business friendly regulatory framework and its open, international mindset. The visibility and support that the Luxembourg government offers companies who locate there, in order to expand into new markets, is invaluable.

Foundry & MasonBower stand ready to support these initiatives, and to build strong ties between Luxembourg and the most exciting, new high-tech hubs in the world – hubs like South Korea.
